Blog Search Engine Optimisation

November 26, 2009 · Posted in Building A Blog · Comment

As mentioned in previous posts, using blogs to generate additional traffic for your primary site can pay huge dividends. Just “doing it” can mean significant increases in traffic, but what you really want to do here is – as in your main site – generate qualified traffic.
Post Writing – Content Creation Discipline
By that, I mean you want to draw in people who want exactly what you offer. That requires a disciplined approach to content creation;
- Research and consider carefully what your post is about, and know why you are writing it – the objective!
- Identify the keyword phrase/s that people are using to find information relevant to the topic you will write on.
- Ensure you place keywords in the post title, and early in the first paragraph, with some additional emphasis on the words, such as bold / italics.
- Include “exact match” keyword phrases throughout the body of the article.
- Add tags/slug i.e. a short list of specific relevant keywords – this may be used in the post page Keyword meta-tag.
- Write a concise Excerpt, loaded with keyword phrases – this may be used in the post page Description meta-tag.
- Use the Spell Checker!!! This article may be the first introduction a potential client has with your business.
Remember that “You NEVER get a second chance to create a first impression!”
Business Blogs Should Inform & Educate
In a business blog, which is there to inform & educate potential clients about aspects of your business, try to provide useful information, without a blatant sales pitch. By all means, encourage readers to “Inquire about Free Personal Advice” or “Contact us for More Information” but don’t overdo the sales pitch. Your goal is to convey your depth of knowledge and experience, and build credibility.
Blog Search Engine Optimisation
To maximise the penetration of your Blog posts, it is not sufficient to just write it and forget it. You need to ensure that your Business Blog is properly “optimised” to produce unique, accurately categorised, and clearly labelled content. This requires a SEO package implementation on your blog to ensure that your Posts, static Pages and Category pages are UNIQUE! We think Wordpress is the fastest and easiest blog platform to customize. It also has a comprehensive array of free SEO options, and following comments are specific to Wordpress.
This is best done dynamically, with installation of plugins that provide automation of;
- HTML Page URLs – using mod_rewrite to generate verbose, keyword-rich page file names.
- Page Title Tags – if you write good post titles, these can be used verbatim in the Title Tag.
- Page Description Meta-Tag – uses the post Excerpt, or the first 20 words of 1st paragraph.
- Page Keyword Meta-Tag – used the post Tag or Slug to generate keywords.
Accurate Content Cataloguing Pays Dividends
The combined impact of attention to detail in posting generation and publishing, plus Search Engine Optimisation finesse on the page production, will deliver dramatic improvements to blog traffic. At the same time, it wil ensure that visitors get exactly what they were seeking due to the resulting accuracy of your content cataloguing efforts.
That will encourage them to bookmark the site, or specific page, and to come back looking for additional details.

Review of Blogging To The Bank 2.0 ebook

By now I think most people in the world know about blogs.

What most don’t know as there is a great income to be made as well for free.

Rob Benwell is only a mere 22 years old and has already made a fortune using

this method. Early last year he sharing his secrets with the world in his highly successful Blogging To The Bank ebook and has made making money online

a whole lot easier for everyone.

Just over a year after the success of his first book he is now releasing his

second helping to wet our appetites and keep the fat bucks rolling in.

I got this book and soon as I could and it covers quite a lot of new information and techniques to adapt your blog to the new demands of the major search engines. Many of the techniques in the old book are now dated and don’t work so well. This is why Blogging To The Bank 2.0 is a godsend.

Also this guy doesn’t consider himself to be a “guru”, he’s just a normal guy

who wants to help the little guys out. I find this a nice change as he doesn’t

talk “down” to you like most of the other guys do. He explains everything in a

nice simple manor so everyone can understand.

Saying that when he “goes off on one” it may take a few reads until you get it

but when you do it’s just shear genius. Some of the topics in my opinion could

have been covered a little more, then others went into great detail. You also

get his 5 blogging commandments that you must follow to give you blogs the

greatest success. This should be printed out and put on the wall of every

online marketer without a doubt! His book starts off with market research

(so that you are making the most of your time) to building your blogging

empire. Everything is covered in this new outing that helps bloggers with

todays online issues regarding making the all mighty search engines happy.

Final Verdict: if you are out there in the blogging world and want to make money the easy way then I highly recommend Blogging To The Bank 2.0.

Why work harder than you need to as the new techniques are there ready for you to simply implement.

Is Blogging Only For Money?

November 23, 2009 · Posted in Building A Blog · Comment

When one gives a quick look at the articles written on blogging, the common theme seems to be making money from blogging. The authors invariably talk about adsense and how we can make money from blogs. Is blogging only for making money? Did blogs begin with that idea? Are we losing the direction somewhere?

A blog gives an opportunity to everyone to express himself/herself on the Internet. We feel that we are sharing our deepest thoughts with other members of the world. Blogging is bringing the world nearer to each other like never before. In certain cases, a blog is a great therapy for venting out anger, frustration and other negative feelings, which can otherwise damage the psyche. Blogging was never started with the object of making money on the Internet.

Imagine the scenario when the majority of blogs will somehow try to collect content from different sources and hope that their ad gets clicked. Is that not wasting of quality time? Will such blogs contribute to the Internet at all? Who will visit such blogs? Everyone is busy building a blog that makes money, so why should he/she visit other blogs?

A blog can contribute to very lively discussion. A blog can be a great platform to meet people and talk. A blog is a great way to help budding talents show case their work to the world. Let us not make blogs only as a money making tool.

Web Site Traffic Building – More Advanced Ways of Building Traffic

November 21, 2009 · Posted in Building A Blog · Comment

Now that you know the basics of traffic building, you may feel you’re ready for bigger things. You already have relevant content arranged in a professional layout and popular keywords sprinkled over your articles. It’s time to move on to intermediate ways of web site traffic building. It’s time to learn about creating back-links or inbound links, which are links that direct back to your site.

The more links that direct back to your site, the higher up your site is in search engine rankings. There is also a much greater chance for first-time visitors to stumble upon your site because its URL is accessible from a lot of places online.

There are a number of ways to create back-links to your site. Here are some:

1.) Write articles related to your site’s topic and submit them to article directories. Make sure that your resource box at the bottom includes a link back to your site.

2.) Keep a blog alongside with your site is one of the latest methods of web site traffic building. A blog allows a less formal and more conversational means of communication for your visitors. This encourages interaction between you and your readers, giving them a reason to visit over and over again. Make sure to include links to your site in your blog so that your readers can check it out.

3.) Enroll your site in a reputable pay-per-click advertising program. You bid on keywords that you think your target audience will use to search for sites such as yours. If you win the bidding, your site will appear in the top rankings of the pay-per-click search engine you enrolled in. You need to shell out a bit of money for this one, but the return of investment makes it a cost effective method of web site traffic building.

Blogging: Consolidation, Debt, and New Information Age Technology

November 20, 2009 · Posted in Building A Blog · Comment

If you are interested in blogging, consolidation, debt, and

other financial topics are sure to appear in many of the

blogs that you regularly read. Techniques to make and

manage money are some of the most popular topics for

bloggers to explore on the web, so it is little wonder that

so many bloggers turn their attention to dealing with

debt. Falling into debt is all too easy, and getting out of

debt can be very difficult for people who do not have a

lot of financial expertise. For people who have a knack

for dealing with finances, blogging about their insights

and knowledge can be a great way to literally and

figuratively share the wealth.

If you are considering getting into blogging,

consolidation, debt, savings, and investment topics can

prove to be very fruitful things to write about. Many

professional bloggers who make a living off of their

blogs spend their days writing about money. If you

know how to court advertisers and build a blog fan

base, you can make money just by talking about money.

If you are familiar with loan consolidation, negotiating

settlements with credit card companies, or any other

financial topics, consider using your knowledge to

create a successful blog. By sharing your expertise, you

may be able to help your readers get out of debt while

you reap sizable monetary rewards for your time and

knowledge.

Blogging For All Business Owners

If you run a small company, you may find that the world

of blogging for business owners is a world that you

want to be a part of. Blogging is a great way to get the

word out to consumers about your product or service,

and it can even be useful for inspiring employee loyalty

and helping you keep your workers at peak morale. If

you are looking for a way to take your business to the

next level, consider what starting a blog might be able

to do for you.

Blogging for business owners has a lot in common with

all other types of blogging, but it has its own unique

pitfalls and strengths. The key to having a successful

blog as a business owner is keeping your goals clear

and concrete at every step of your blogging adventure. It

can be all to easy to get sidetracked, especially if you

are just learning about the exciting possibilities of

blogging technology, but if you want your blog to

succeed you need to stay focused.

Write up a plan for how often you will update, how you

will promote your blog and retain readers, whether you

will feature photographs or video, and other aspects of

your blog, and then stick to it with the same kind of

determination that you used when you built your company.
